Typically, your computer repair software will start immediately. For this reason, we recommend that you avoid jumping over potentially expensive hoops and visit the manufacturer’s official website where one will hopefully host a system image that you can download and use to reset your laptop.

Fortunately, you don’t have to reinstall the system again for this. you can just use the special recovery tool.
! Attention. Some site users wrote in the comments that when performing the reset procedure, they encountered errors and the system stopped loading.
I tested the factory reset tool several times on test systems and concluded that this problem occurs on certain builds of Windows 10. For example, I got SIMilar errors when testing build 10240, but on build 10586 everything worked without problems. The build version can be checked by running the winver command through the Run window (Windows R key combination).
Based on the above, I strongly recommend that you back up Windows by creating a system image, restore point, etc. before performing the factory reset procedure.
System does not boot

- Connect the installation flash drive (disk).
- Set boot from connected media via Boot Menu or BIOS.
- Click on the link “System Restore”.
- Go to the “Diagnostics” section.

If a month has already passed, or you performed a clean installation with partitions formatted after the upgrade, then the quick rollback function will disappear, since the Windows.Old folder (which contains the files of the old system) will be deleted.
How do I return my computer to its original state in this case? Take advantage of the special Windows 10 settings feature:

- Go to the Update Security tab.
- Open the “Recovery” section.
There are two functions in the “Recovery” section. to return the computer to its original state and to launch special boot options. You need the first factory reset tool.
Do NOT require bootable media when downgrading. The procedure involves files that are stored on a special section (its size is about 500 MB).
To start rolling back, click “Start”. The window for selecting the return to original files mode appears. There are two options:
- Save files. All apps and settings will be removed, but user files will remain.
- Delete everything. All information will be erased from the hard drive, including your files.
In order not to suffer from overwriting information to other media, select rollback with saving files. Device preparation begins.
After completing the preparation, a complete list of programs will be displayed, which will be uninstalled as a result of a system rollback. The list will include all the applications that you have installed (browsers, games, image editors, etc.). If you agree, click “Next”.
On the next screen, read the reset wizard carefully during the rollback procedure and its consequences. If everything suits you, click the “Reset” button.
After starting the rollback procedure, the computer will restart. Your participation is NOT required anymore, since the machine will perform all the necessary actions on its own. After successfully completing the factory reset, you will receive a new system without unnecessary programs and settings, but with your files.
If you specified the mode of complete deletion of data, then at the end of the rollback procedure, you need to specify the system operation parameters, and also create an account. After completing Rollback, you will get a completely clean system.
