The Rogue RML-3Wis a wall-mounted foldable squat stand.

Learn what to look for in a wall-mounted folding squat rack in our buying guide.

Squat stands have two vertical bars with J-hooks, which hold the barbell in an optimal position, letting you perform squat and press variations safely and comfortably. Without a rack, you would have a tough time putting a loaded barbell on your back safely.

Without a squat rack or a power cage, performing essential barbell movements from the comfort of your home gym is impossible.

And without squats, bench presses, and overhead presses, you will have a hard time reaching your strength and hypertrophy goals. That is why racks are one of the home fitness equipment essentials.

Wall-mountedracks are different from freestanding ones as they are screwed into a wall.

The drawback is that you can’t move them freely, and you have to drill holes in your wall, which means you need to pre-plan and design your home gym carefully. The benefit of wall-mounted racks is the added stability.

Rogue RML-3W isfoldable, which means it will save a lot of space once you finish exercising. This is very important for garage gyms, which often lack space. Once you fold it, it will only take 5” of space from the wall, making it an excellent option for constricted spaces.

Key Features of the Rogue RML-3W Fold Back Wall Mount Rack

Build & Sturdiness

The Rogue RML-3W is built of3×3” 11-gauge steelbars. That means you can expect excellent stability, even if you load the rack with a fully loaded barbell. The same goes for doing pullups. Stability is even further enhanced if you opt forRogue stringers.

The Rogue signature,powder-coated black finishlooks incredible. It also makes the rack more durable and resistant to scratches.

This rack hasWestside hole spacingin the bench area. That means that holes are placed very near, allowing you to secure the bar in a perfect position. Above and below this area, holes are spread 2” apart, which is also excellent.

Foldable Design

There aretwo depth options, 21.5” and 41.5”. The 21.5” version is a better choice for most home gym enthusiasts, and it has an advantage as it folds flush to the wall. The 41.5” version offers more space inside the rack, but it takes up more space when folded.

When opened, the rack “clicks” in place and is safe to use, thanks to Rogue’s unique hinge-and-pin system. Likewise, it is aseasy to foldthe rack once you finish using it.

US Quality

The Rogue RML-3W Fold Back Wall Mount Rack is a part of Rogue’s famousAmerican-madeline of fitness equipment. That means that you will get a squat stand that maintains the highest standards and that you can expect it to last forever. Rogue gives alifetime warrantyon it, which proves they stand behind their claims.

It is built in the USA (Columbus, Ohio). The material of choice isUS steeltoo, and the finish quality is flawless. Rogue is not cheap, but they really do know how to make outstanding fitness equipment, and RML-3W is a perfect example of that.

Available Extras

The Rogue RML-3W comes with a pair of J-hooks,a built-in pullup bar, and all the necessary hardware needed for rack installation. But, you can opt for some extras too.

Besides choosing the rack depth, Rogue recommends buyers purchase their custom-made stringers. These will further stabilize the rack and make it incredibly easy to fold perfectly. They are intended for wood stud walls.

OtherMonster Lite accessoriesare compatible with RML-3W, such as storage plates, dip bars, and similar. You can also opt for safety bars, but with one major issue. Although the rack can handle the weight, adding safety bars will put an enormous amount of stress on the wall (when you drop the barbell on the safety catches).

Don’t get us wrong – the rack will hold, but the wall behind might not. Whether or not it can handle the stress will depend on many factors, which is why you need to check it with a professional.

Rogue RML-3W Fold Back Wall Mount Rack Pros & Cons

  • Outstanding build quality – 11-gauge US-steel.
  • American-made
  • Lifetime Rogue Guarantee
  • Very easy to fold, takes up minimal space (5” from the wall)

Rogue RML-3W Fold Back Wall Mount Rack Alternatives

ROGUE SML-2 90″ MONSTER LITE SQUAT STAND

The first alternative is another Rogue product, SML-2. This is for those unsure whether their house walls can hold the RML-3W with a fully loaded barbell.

The Rogue SML-2 isn’t wall-mounted, which means you don’t have to worry about drilling holes and wall strength. It can support up to1000lbsof weight, which is excellent. It’s also made of 11-gauge US steel, and in the USA, which means you can expect outstanding quality.

Also, it supports all Monster Lite extras, including safety bars, so you don’t have to worry about that. But, it is not foldable and takes up more space than RML-3W, as you can’t store it away once you finish exercising.

Titan T-3 Series Folding Power Rack

The Titan T-3 Folding Rack is abudget-friendlyversion of the RML-3W. It is very similar to the Rogue rack we reviewed in this article, but it cost less. Of course, the build quality is not as good, but that is to be expected.

There are two height options, 82” and 91”, and two depth options, 21” and 41”. However, there are no stringers, which is a problem as it impacts stability and strength. These racks are compatible with Rogue attachments, and you can make it work with a Rogue stringer with some slight adjustments.

The rack comes with a built-in pullup bar, a pair of J-hooks, and a Westside hole placement, which is nice. For the price, it is a decent product.

REP PR-4100 Folding Squat Rack

REP PR-4100 is another wall-mounted folding squat rack that is a bit cheaper than Rogue RML-3W. Like Rogue, it is made of3×3” 11-gauge steel, which means you can expect excellent stability.

The rack comes in two depth options, just like Rogue and Titan, 21.5” and 41”. The foldable design saves space, and the 21.5” version will only take 6.5” off the wall.

The rack comes with a built-in pullup bar and Westside holes around the bench area, which is great. You can also opt for dip bars, landmine attachments, but there are no stringers, and no safety catches available.

Still, you can fit Rogue Monster Lite attachments, which gives you more options. For more information, check out our guide to the best power rack attachments and accessories
