      First of all, the technical documentation for the device must be available;

This article looked at ways to find out information about your HP laptop model.

What to do if laptop can’t see Wi-Fi? All answers are here.

The laptop owner should definitely know the model of his device, as without this information, laptop maintenance can be extremely difficult.

    View in BIOS

How to find out the laptop model if there is no information on the case? The first method is to look at the model in the BIOS. The biggest problem here is going into the BIOS itself. Usually, to enter, you need to press the F2 or Delete key when turning on the laptop.

In the BIOS, go to the tab with the type name “Info”. There, in the “Product name” field, the series and model of the laptop will be indicated.

    Stickers and Battery

If you cannot find the documents, carefully examine the case of the laptop. For example, on ASUS devices, a sticker with basic information is located right under the keyboard, here is the touchpad. Sometimes on such stickers you can not only find the name, but also see the technical characteristics of your laptop. I have an ASUS X550C laptop, here is just such an informative sticker on the case.

If there are any notes under the cover that look like the name of the device, then try carefully turning the laptop over and inspecting its bottom. Here, too, you can find a small sticker that indicates the model of the equipment.

If all the stickers have been torn off for a long time or are worn so that you cannot make out what is written there, Remove the battery and see the model for us or in the battery compartment itself. Slide the latches on the back panel (there are different types of laptops, so there may be one latch) and carefully remove the battery. If the information you are looking for is there, install the battery and snap it back.

    Papers and box

If there is still a box at home in which a new laptop was hidden when buying, then the question of how to determine the laptop model is resolved with one glance at the packaging. Here you can see the manufacturer’s brand, model name and other useful information.

If the manufacturer does NOT indicate specific laptop models on the packaging, then look for this information in the warranty card or operating instructions. If many users throw away the box right away, then the documents for the equipment can be found at home and several years after the purchase.

    Battery

Sometimes laptop manufacturers can hide this data a little “deeper”, for example, on or under the battery.

Information for those who did NOT remove the battery. Turn the laptop over, find the latches that hold the battery. Usually there are 2 of them, but there are exceptions when there is only one. Then spread them apart and the battery will rise by itself.

Now you can do an inspection for the data you need. Most often you can find on the battery itself, but also look under it (on a laptop).

    Laptop case, stickers, battery

There is little hope for packaging from a laptop or some documents. usually all this is thrown away immediately after buying a laptop. But if you still have the instruction manual, you can see the information in it in the laptop.

A more realistic way is to find stickers on the front or bottom of your laptop. They contain complete information about the device, including the manufacturer, series and model. For example, Acer Aspire 5745G.

If the stickers are torn off, try looking at the model on the laptop battery. Flip it over and find two latches (maybe one). Slide them to the open position and remove the cover to remove the battery. The manufacturer (e.g. HP or DNS) and the series and model will be written on the battery.

Ways to determine the laptop model

To find out the exact brand of your laptop, you can use a dozen methods: from viewing the model on the laptop case to calling up device information through the command term. The methods below work on all versions of Windows.

Determine your laptop model online. Using special software

The answer to the question of how to find out the laptop model can be monitoring programs that analyze the system, giving a detailed list of characteristics. from the name of the equipment to the temperature of SEPARATE components.

The best monitoring software is called AIDA64. In it, the information you need is located in the “DMI” section in the “System”.

AIDA64 works for free for only 30 days, after which you need to purchase a license. If you want the best free computer monitoring software, download the HWMonitor utility.

Here the brand and model are written at the top, just below the “Desktop” line. Instead of HWMonitor, you can use another free program. for example, Speccy. In general, there are many options, you just need to choose the method that suits you.

    Computer health monitoring utilities

Notebook Information Provides various programs for measuring temperature and other device performance. For example, you can use the HWMonitor utility.

    • Download and install the program.
    • Run HWMonitor.
    • Look at the first term (right after DESKTOP).

The line will contain the manufacturer of the laptop (HP, Lenovo) and its model. You can double-check the data using the AIDA64 program. Although it is a paid utility, it has a trial period (for 30 days), which is enough to determine the laptop model.

    • Run the utility.
    • Expand the “Computer” tab.
    • Open the “DMI” item.
    • Go to the “System”.

There are a lot of programs that provide detailed information about the computer; you can view the laptop model in any junk for system monitoring. By the way, after receiving the necessary information, you should not delete these programs. Use them to constantly be aware of the temperature of the processor and video card.
