Methods for each browser

But each browser has unique ways. We will talk about them further.

Each instruction will tell you how to clear your browser history. If you only need to watch it, stop at a certain stage.

Opera

In this browser, this procedure is very simple. To execute it, you must first click on the menu button in the browser (it looks like the letter “O”, as shown in the figure below).

After that, open the history to the contribution and clear it in the same way with the first browser.

Google chrome

In order to view and clear history in Google Chrome, you will need:

  • Open browser.
  • Find an icon resembling a list in the upper right corner (three bars in the upper right). Click on it.

How to view your browser history?

The visit history is a section that stores all the transitions to sites made by the user. This article will describe in detail how to view the browser history and effectively clean up this section on all currently known browsers.

Universal way

In order to open the history of visits in the overwhelming number of well-known browsers, you just need to press the following key combination: CtrlShiftH, or CtrlH.

Yandex browser

In terms of its structure, appearance and in general, the Yandex browser is very similar to Google Chrome. Therefore, the instructions for clearing the history will be similar:

  • You open the browser. Click on the upper right tab of the settings, which is made in the form of three horizontal stripes.
  • In the menu that opens, select “History”.

In the same way, you can clean it. click the “Clear history” button and select the time for which you want to destroy the data.

Firefox

We bring to your attention the instructions for the Firefox browser:

  • Open your browser. Open the “History” tab in the menu. If you have a hidden menu, you can open it by pressing the ALT key on the keyboard.
  • When the additional menu opens, select “Show entire log”.

Hint: A faster way to open history works here. hold down the CtrlShiftH buttons.

  • Clear your browsing history for the time you need. To do this, use the panel on the left.

It should be noted that this section in this browser is very convenient, since you can open the history of visits for a specific time, which in turn makes it easier to find.

File location

Unfortunately, standard system tools will not work to open the history file from the Opera browser. over, it is almost impossible to even find it in Windows Explorer, because its directory is initially hidden. Of course, you can first turn on the display of hidden items on the computer, but this is too tricky way. We offer you a much simpler option:

  • Bring up the main browser menu.
  • Open the “Help. About the program” items one by one.
  • Scroll a little through the displayed page until you find the “Paths” section.
  • Now you need to copy the contents of the “Profile” column.
  • Paste it into the address bar of Windows Explorer and press Enter.
  • In the opened directory, we are interested in the history file.

Now you know where the repository of all history in the Opera is. But to view it, as we said earlier, with the help of any program will not work. This only needs to be done through a web browser window.

How to watch history in the Opera

In standard mode, the Opera browser remembers certain user actions in order to make his Internet surfing more comfortable in the future. One notable example of this is keeping a summary of the sites visited. It will prove to be very useful in a number of cases. Therefore, it is worth knowing how to watch history at the Opera.

Instructions

Sites visited by the user are recorded in a separate history file located in a hidden system directory. But if you wish, you can get to it. In this article, we will talk about how to view the history in the browser and how to navigate to the desired storage file.

In the first case, it is enough to perform the following steps:

  • Call the main menu of the Opera by clicking LMB on the corresponding button, which is easy to find in the upper left corner of the window.
  • Click LMB on the inscription “History”.
  • Now open the topmost item.

This is the main way, but there are two alternatives:

  • Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl H.
  • In the address bar of your Internet browser, enter opera: // history, and then press Enter.

Addition

Often, users try to find the list of visited Internet pages in the browser not only to view it, but also for further cleaning. In Opera, this feature is implemented very simply, but nevertheless we devoted a separate article to it.

How to view the history of website visits? How to clear history in all browsers?

Good day.

It turns out that not all users know that by default any browser remembers the history of the pages you visit. And even if several weeks, or maybe months have passed, by opening the browser log of visits, you can find the cherished page (unless, of course, you have not cleared the history of visits).

In general, this option is quite useful: you can find a previously visited site (if you forgot to add it to your favorites), or see what other users are interested in sitting at this PC. In this short article, I want to show you how you can view history in popular browsers, as well as how to clear it quickly and easily. So…

How to view the history of visiting sites in the browser

In most browsers, to open the history of visiting sites, just press the combination of buttons: CtrlShiftH or CtrlH.

In Chrome, in the upper right corner of the window there is a “list button”, when you click on it, a context menu opens: in it you need to select the “History” item. By the way, the so-called keyboard shortcuts are also supported: CtrlH (see Fig. 1).

The story itself is a simple list of Internet page addresses, sorted according to the date of visit. It is quite easy to find sites that you visited, for example, yesterday (see Fig. 2).

The second most popular (after Chrome) browser at the beginning of 2015. To enter the log, you can press the shortcut buttons (CtrlShiftH), or you can open the “Log” menu and select the item “Show entire log” from the context menu.

By the way, if you don’t have a top menu (file, edit, view, log). just press the left ALT button on your keyboard (see fig. 3).

By the way, in my opinion, Firefox is the most convenient library for visiting: you can select links from yesterday, at least for the last 7 days, at least for the last month. Very handy when searching!

In the Opera browser, viewing the history is very simple: click on the icon of the same name in the upper left corner and select the “History” item from the context menu (by the way, CtrlH shortcuts are also supported).

Yandex browser very much resembles Chrome, so here everything is almost the same: click on the “list” icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select “History / History Manager” (or just press the CtrlH buttons, see Fig. 6).

Well, and the last browser, which could not simply be included in the review. To view the history in it. just click on the “star” icon on the toolbar: then a side menu should appear in which you simply select the “Journal” section.

By the way, in my opinion, it is not entirely logical to hide the visit history under the “asterisk” that most users associate with the chosen one

How to clear history in all browsers at once

You can, of course, manually delete everything from the log if you don’t want someone to be able to view your history. Or you can simply use special utilities that will clear the entire history in all browsers in a matter of seconds (sometimes minutes)!

One of the most popular programs for cleaning Windows from “garbage”. It also allows you to clean the registry from erroneous entries, remove programs that cannot be removed in the usual way, etc.

Using the utility is very simple: run the utility, clicked the analysis button, then ticked the boxes where needed and clicked the clear button (by the way, the browser history is Internet History).

In this review, I could not fail to mention another utility that sometimes shows even better results in disk cleaning. Wise Disk Cleaner.

Alternative to CCleaner. Allows you not only to clean the disk from various kinds of junk files, but also to perform defragmentation (it will be useful for the speed of the hard disk if you have not done it for a very long time).

Using the utility is just as easy (besides, it supports the Russian language). first you need to click the analysis button, then agree with the cleaning points that the program has assigned, and then click the clear button.

Chrome

Press a simple combination of buttons CtrlH. a window with history should automatically open (note: H. History).

Just copy the address: chrome: // history / and paste it into your browser’s address bar. Simple and easy!

In the upper right corner of the browser window, you need to click the icon with “three dots”. in the list that opens, select the “History” tab (see screenshot below).

READ  The laptop suddenly turned off and does not turn on

Next, you will see several of the most recently visited pages. If you need more information on visits. click on the link “History”.

Advice! By the way, to open the last tab (which you closed). press the key combination CtrlShiftT.

Next, you will see a complete list of all visits: by date, time (see example below). You can also search for a page by its name (top menu). In general, you can quickly find the sites that you visited.

Using the DNS cache

The DNS (Domain Name System) of the operating system temporarily saves your lookups and deletes them after you restart your computer. When you delete your search history, the DNS cache is not deleted. This means that you can see all the domain names to which the referrals were made.

This is a fast, but not very reliable method. It is inconvenient to use it to restore old history, and it can also show an incorrect history, since all computer connections to the Internet are stored in the cache, not only from the browser: including applications, ads, antivirus programs, etc.

This way, if the application connects to something on the internet, it will also be displayed as a website search. Therefore, it will be difficult to determine where the search was carried out by the user, and where other applications of the computer.

To restore history from the DNS cache, you need to do the following:

Run the Run tool (Windows R) and enter the command “cmd”

Enter the command in the Command Prompt window that opens
ipconfig / displaydns

As a result of executing this command, the user will be shown all the sites to which the transition was made, including the connections of computer applications.
But only website addresses will be displayed, not the pages to which the link was made.

To flush the DNS cache without restarting the computer, type ipconfig / flushdns in the Command Prompt and press Enter.

Using data recovery software

Browser history is stored on your computer’s hard drive just like any other file. By deleting the history from the browser, it is also deleted from the computer disk. This means that the browser history file can be recovered from the computer hard drive in the same way as any other file.

To do this, you can use Hetman Partition Recovery. It is enough to know where the browser history file is located, what name it has, and scan the disk in order to find and restore it. Typically, the browser history file is stored in the following folders:

Google Chrome:
C: Users (Username) AppDataLocaLGoogleChromeUser DataDefaultlocal storage

Mozilla Firefox:
C: Users (Username) AppDataRoamingMozillaFirefoxProfiles

Microsoft Edge:
C: Users (Username) AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindowsHistory

Please note that some of the specified folders in the browser history path may be hidden. To display them, enable the display hidden files function.

To restore browser history using Hetman Partition Recovery, launch the program and scan the disk on which the browser is installed, the history of which needs to be restored. After that, use the program to go to one of the above folders (depending on the browser used) and restore the history files.

Save the recovered files back to the browser history folder from which they were deleted.

If the story has been deleted. is it possible to find it out?

Not always and not completely. How this story was cleared, and when, also matters. If, for example, specials were used. utilities for the complete destruction of history. then there is practically no chance. And if a simple cleaning using the usual function of the browser itself (and even recently), then the chances are much greater. I will give several working methods below.

If, after clearing the history in the browser, you did not restart the computer / laptop, then you can find the domains to which the transitions were made in the DNS cache. These, of course, are not specific page addresses, but still you can find out about something.

Another disadvantage of this method: that, in addition to user connections, it will display the service addresses used by your system, anti-virus applications, etc.

Can you please tell me if the sites I visited are saved somewhere on the computer? The fact is that I read one interesting article, but kill me I can’t remember on which site.

The entire history of the pages viewed (and by date and time) is saved in the browser history. Such a log is available in any normal browser. In this article I will show you how to open this magazine and see when and which pages were viewed in it. I will also touch on several options for viewing the history of visits, if the journal has already been cleared.

So that no one can see your history of visiting certain sites, use special cleaning utilities. About them here: https://ocomp.info/programmyi-dlya-ochistki-Windows-10-na-russkom.html

Viewing browsing history in a browser

Let’s face it, the first thing you’ll want to check is the list of visited sites. To do this, open your browser (for me, for example, Google Chrome) and in the “Options” select “History”.

Also, the list of visited sites is called by simultaneously pressing CtrlH or by writing “chrome: // history /” in the address bar.

    Security log

Here you will find the most interesting information: all information about entering and exiting the system (turning on / off the machine). Compare the data from the log and your real time at the computer.

    Application log

This journal stores information about all programs and games that run on the computer. Most importantly, the exact time of launch and use is recorded. To open it, we find the item “Administration” in the “Control Panel” and select “Computer Management”.

Next, click “View Events”. “Windows Logs”. “Applications”.

The list displays information about running applications.

    Viewing log files

All actions performed on the computer are recorded and documented. We just need to refer to this data to find out the information of interest.

What did you do with the computer in your absence or how to find out the history?

You came home, rested and decided to check your mail. But when we approached the computer, we noticed that the mouse was out of place, the keyboard was shifted and, in general, the case was warm. Considering that everyone at home has their own car, this fact seems strange. Why did you use your computer and for what purpose? This is not yet known. But in this article, you will learn exactly how to view history on a computer.

    Recently modified files

Also on Windows you will find recently created, viewed and edited files. To do this, simultaneously press WinR on your keyboard and enter “recent” in the text field.

In the window that opens, you can view recent files.

How to restrict access to a computer and set a trap

If you are not interested in who, when and why used your computer, but just unpleasant. set a password. Go to Options. Accounts. Login Options. Here click on the “Add” button and enter the desired combination.

Personal data is harder to get to now.

But if “catching” an unknown visitor becomes an obsession, then a trap is set. To do this, you need to use the standard “Task Scheduler”.

    • Click on “Create a simple task”.
    • Enter a name and select “Trigger”.
    • Indicate the required action (in my case, sending a message by e-mail).

Now, when you turn on your computer, you will receive an instant notification and catch the “intruder” in hot pursuit.
