Laptop performance test

The laptop test may take several minutes, the system will slow down a little during this time, so it is better not to perform any other actions. At the end of the test, a line with the execution time will appear, after which the command line can be closed.
To see specific benchmarks for laptop performance, open the C: \ Windows \ Performance \ WinSAT \ DataStore directory and look for a file named with the current date and “Formal.Assessment (Recent).WinSAT.xml”.

What can be checked using the AIDA64 benchmarks:
- Disk Test. Measure the performance of storage devices. Attention: the operation is not limited to reading only, therefore, incorrect execution of the test can lead to data loss.
- Cache and memory test. check the memory bandwidth when reading, writing and copying, showing the latency.
- GPGPU benchmark. evaluating the computational performance of the graphics system.
- Monitor diagnostics. finding the settings you want, calibrating the monitor, detecting possible problems.
- System stability test. creating a full load for individual components and the system as a whole. During the test, temperature and voltage indicators, fan speed are monitored.
- AIDA64 CPUID. Provides detailed information about installed processors (supported instruction set extensions, cache size, manufacturing technology, voltage and clock speed).
The list of testing utilities is not limited to the AIDA64 program. There are also programs like wPrime and Super Pi for the processor, 3DMark06 for graphics, HD Tune for the hard drive. For example, you can use the Battery Eater utility to check the battery life of your laptop.
Depending on the selected test, the program will show the maximum and minimum battery life of the laptop, without being connected to the network. So you can check all aspects of the laptop, the main thing is to correctly interpret the results.
Checking through the program
SpeedFan is a special program for testing all installed fans, which will allow you to quickly establish the status and degree of operation of the device without disassembling it. Using this utility, the user gets full control over the fan operation, and can adjust the rotation speed at a particular temperature.
- Download, install and run the software:
- Click the Configure button;
- Go to Options / Languages and select Russian to Russify the interface.
- The utility is now ready to work.
Of course, you don’t have to change the language, because the SpeedFan interface is already quite understandable, and you can see which components are at a normal temperature and which are getting too hot. However, for maximum convenience, you should do all the above steps.
Once properly configured, the cooling system will perform much more efficiently. Please note that the speed is set in% ratio. In this example, it is 100%. You can track the rotation speed in the “CPU FAN” column, in the picture below you can see that it is “2184 RPM (number of revolutions per minute)”.
In the event that you have set the maximum speed of the blades, and they still do not provide normal cooling, then the reason may lie in insufficient fan power or general malfunctions during operation. In this case, a complete replacement may be required.
Checking the performance of the laptop cooler
In case of malfunctions in the functioning of the cooling system, the first thing to do is to check the operation of the cooler. In most cases, such problems are associated with this particular part. You do not need special knowledge or special equipment to check the health of a laptop cooler. This can be done at home in the following ways:
