The method requires disassembling the case.

You need to do the following:

  • Disconnect the laptop from the network;
  • Take out the battery;
  • Remove the bottom panel of the housing. Carefully inspect the bottom of the laptop, Remove the screws. If this is not enough, draw a thin plastic knife or plastic card around the perimeter of the device at the junctions of the lower and upper parts of the case. If you find the latches, gently squeeze;
  • Find the terminal block on the motherboard. The surface says jfp1 or f-panel;
  • Find pwr sf /. or pwr;
  • Closed contacts with a screwdriver;
  • Assemble the laptop.

To disassemble the laptop with your own hands, it is difficult to find contacts on the motherboard. What should a beginner do? It’s easier to close them on a non-working button.

  • Remove the panel above the keyboard. If it is absent, remove the keyboard. Dismantling begins from above. Use a screwdriver or knife to sequentially squeeze the latches, lifting the released corners;
  • Find the board that contains the contacts. Enough Trace where the trains lead;
  • Check if the cable is working properly by disconnecting it and locking the contacts. In case of malfunction, replacement is required;
  • If the cable is working properly, the contacts are closed with a screwdriver, a thin metal object. Instead, they remove the button, bring the closure terminals outward using thin wires, cables from an old PC;
  • Assemble the laptop. Snap the fasteners, install the keyboard, replace the battery.

Another option is Power ON function

The next method requires changing the settings in the BIOS.

To enter BIOS, press F2 or del. These keys work on most laptops, netbooks, including ASUS. On Lenovo, Acer can be used f1, on Sony. escf2.

But these keys are useless if the laptop won’t turn on.

In this case, enter the BIOS like this:

  • Press the hardware button;
  • Included in the boot menu;
  • Choose BIOS setup.
  • Find the power (power management setup) menu item

Home keyboard repair

To carry out restoration work, you will need the following tools:

  • Insulin Syringe Needle.
  • Soldering iron, preferably thin.
  • Simple pliers.
  • Small pressure.
  • Mounting knife.

You can also get by with a more modest set of accessories:

  • Brush brush hair.
  • Sewing needle.
  • Lighter.
  • Pliers or strong tweezers.
  • Technical superglue.

We start repairing:

  • Take the fastener with the broken metal leg and install it on the workplace.
  • We take a needle in one hand, and a thin soldering iron in the other.
  • The needles must be applied to the damaged area. It is desirable that it goes somewhere 2 millimeters on the part of the part that was not damaged.
  • We warm up the needle with a soldering iron and carefully melt it into the plastic surface.
  • Cutting pliers Get rid of excess plastic. Most importantly, don’t overdo it.

Putting the keys back in place

We hope that during the disassembly of the device, no fastening elements were damaged, since we will need them in the same state:

  • We take the key and put it on its Seat. Align the path and push the component a little until it clicks.
  • If the buttons do not respond or refuses to snap into place, then chances are that you have assembled the fastening parts incorrectly. Recheck your work.

Something broke? Do not rush to give the device to the workshop, because you can try to fix the problem with your own efforts.

Alternative way

If you do not have the tools that are used in the previous method, then you can safely use the alternative repair instructions:

  • Take a needle and heat it with a lighter.
  • Next, you need to make a groove, into which the villi from the comb will be inserted freely (you can use something like that).
  • Threading the villi and fixing it with a small amount of superglue.
  • We wait from forty minutes to an hour and check the part for performance.

Mountings

We figured out how to remove the keys from the keyboard, but how to remove the mounts themselves? We continue to consider the option in which the mounts are located at the top of the key.

You have to do the following:

  • We take the same knife and insert it between the two component parts of the fastening element. Place the blade slightly lower or higher “mustache”.
  • Bend the inner part of the component inward and slightly downward in order to “mustache” came out of the groove and turned out to be lower than the part of the mount that is external.
  • The mounts are detached, which means they can be pulled out.

If everything is clear with how to remove the keys from the laptop keyboard, then how to return them to their place?

Returning the mounts to the keyboard

If you followed this method, as described above, then the assembly takes place in reverse order. It may, of course, happen that the parts of the mountings are messed up with each other, then it is best to assemble “constructor” in hand, and only after that (not without the help of a good old clerical knife) mount ready “swing” in metal mounts that are located on the keyboard surface.

If both parts completely enter each other in a closed state, then you are on the right track.

What to do?

First, you need to prepare a small set of tools: a stationery knife, a nail file or something similar.

Before getting down to business, let’s talk about some of the key structure features. The buttons have mounts on which they are fixed, and the mount itself consists of two parts. These parts are connected by small “mustache”, that come out of the back of the mount and are inserted into the groove. This connection allows the buttons to move freely, otherwise pressing would be problematic.

The best solution would be to first remove the vertical mounts, but before that you need to determine the location of the side of the button on which these mounts are located. For this:

  • Just bend the key slightly on one side and try to look under it.
  • If we don’t really look at it, we just start bending the key on each of its sides until it loosens and does NOT unfasten.

Often the grooves are located at the top of the button, so we will consider this particular option:

  • Take a utility knife and insert it under the button (on the right side).
  • Further, making rotational movements clockwise.
  • These actions should help you unfasten the key, you just have to pull the component a little to the side, and it seems to be removed.

Have you noticed that clouds of dust literally accumulated under the keyboard buttons, does not mean crumbs and other debris? Are you going to clean up all this mess? Sounds pretty simple, if you, of course, disassembled it before. Didn’t you understand? Then you can run into some difficulties here if you do not have an idea of the process.
