The most popular way to take screenshots:

But there are other ways as well. I will tell you more about each below.

In Paint

Let’s take a look at how to make a screen using Paint. This is the most popular way because Paint is on every computer.

Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. There is no need to hold it. just press and release once. It happens that on a laptop you need to press two keys at once: Fn and Print Screen.

Open “Start” and at the end of the list select “Accessories. Windows”. And from it select Paint.

You can also type paint right in the open Start menu and run the application.

Insert the screen. To do this, click on the “Insert” button at the top left.

The screen photo will be added to the program window.

Since the resulting photo is larger than the program window, it usually goes beyond Paint. Its scale can be reduced through the slider in the lower right corner.

Use the Select tool to trim off excess. Click on it and holding the left mouse button select the part of the image that you want to keep. It should be indicated by a dotted line.

Then click on the “Crop” button at the top

Zoom in to 100% using the bottom right slider. Thus, you will see a real picture of what happened.

To do this, click on the “File” button at the top and select “Save as”.

A save window will appear. Go through it to the folder on the computer where you want to place the image. For example, if you want to add it to the Desktop, then in the list on the left, select “Desktop”.

In the File name box, type a name for the snapshot. It is usually named “Nameless” by default. You can print a number instead.

Change the file format in the lower field if necessary. In most cases, PNG or JPG is fine.

Then click “Save”. The screen will be recorded on the PC.

The screenshot is saved to where you recorded it in the Paint (item 5). there the snapshot can be found. This will be a regular photo file that can be written to a USB flash drive, inserted into a document, sent by mail or Skype, published in VK, etc.

On a note. If you need to take a screenshot of a separate window, press the Alt and Print Screen key combination.

Online services for taking screenshots

To create screenshots, you can use special services: pastenow.ru, makescreen.ru, snipboard.io and others. They have editing tools: crop, rotate, print text, arrow, line, shapes. To work, you only need a browser, for example, Google Chrome or Yandex.

Via keyboard shortcut

There are other free apps as well. They are about the same in functionality, but they have certain restrictions: registration is required, there is no Russian language, support for only certain versions of Windows, etc. There are also paid programs for professional work: Snagit, Movavi Screen Recorder. They can do more than free applications: for example, take not only photos, but also video of the screen.

Universal way

So, the first way to take a screenshot of a page on a laptop or PC is to use the PrintScreen key. When you need to take a screenshot, just use one of the add-on activation methods, and then select the desired snapshot option. Immediately after taking a screenshot, the user will have the opportunity to either save the picture to a computer / laptop, or edit it, add some notes, and then save.

Lightshot

Using the add-on is also fairly straightforward. After installation, the Lightshot icon appears on the top panel, from where the addon can be launched. Lightshot works somewhat differently than Nimbus. After clicking on the icon, the user needs to use the cursor to highlight the necessary area from which the picture will be taken.

Unlike the same Nimbus, you cannot make a screen of the entire page here, but there is a plus. you can edit and make edits to a future screenshot right at the initial stage. In other words, immediately after highlighting the area of the image, the user can highlight important fragments in the future screenshot in color, put notes, designations, and then save.

It is also worth noting that, in addition to the browser add-on, there is also a separate program for the Lightshot computer. The principle of its operation is absolutely the same as that of the addon, only there are a few more possibilities.

Fireshot

This latest addition to help you take a screenshot of the entire page or just take a snapshot of a specific area is Fireshot. It is also worth noting that in addition to the browser add-on, there is a separate version of the program for a computer, but it has a trial period, and you will have to pay for the license.
