Recover Personal Data on iPhone from iCloud
At any time, it may happen that data from your smartphone is lost or accidentally deleted, and in such a situation it is important to know how to restore iPhone from the iCloud cloud storage. This procedure can return all photos, files, music and videos to your smartphone as soon as possible.
Now you know how to recover data via iCloud. Active users of Apple devices should also know how to set up backups so that they do not lose their personal data in case of any failures. Backups can be performed automatically or performed manually by the user:
- In order to set the automatic saving of data in the cloud, you need to go to the “Settings” section, select “Backup”, and then “Copy to iCloud”.
- For manual copying, you must also go to the “Settings” section, select “Backup” and “Create a backup“.
Important! In the event that the user does not create new copies within 180 days, then Apple has the right to delete the previous.
Sometimes there are some difficulties when restoring iPhone from iCloud. For example, some users complain that backups are not available for their device. In order to view devices for which the use of backups is available, you need to go to the “Settings” section on the device, and then “Storage” and view the list of devices.
If the list of copies is not displayed or is highlighted in gray, then you need to find out the reason. This situation can arise if:
- The data contained on this device has never been backed up.
- The device has an earlier version of the operating system.
- The data was copied for another account.
- No updates have occurred for 180 days and all copies have been automatically deleted.
If you are interested in how to recover data via iCloud in case of such problems, then you should know that you can recover data only if it has ever been saved in the cloud and has not been deleted from there. Otherwise, it cannot be done.
Sometimes it happens that the recovery process takes a very long time. This problem can arise for various reasons, for example, low speed of the Internet connection or geographic location. In some cases, recovery can take up to four hours. This is especially true for those who travel a lot. The speed will be much higher if the work with cloud storage takes place in the same region where the user most often connects to the Internet.
I would also like to answer the question of how to recover data from iCloud storage if a message with a warning about the Internet connection appears constantly. In order to solve this problem, you need to connect the device to the power supply and to the Internet using Wi-Fi (read about possible problems with Wi-Fi on the iPhone here). It is best to use your device only after the recovery process is complete.
Some users may be interested in the question of how to restore iPhone from iCloud backup that was created on iPad. It should be noted that you can restore backups on any of your devices, and the procedure is described a little above. However, there are some limitations, for example, some programs may simply be incompatible with the device, or the smartphone uses an earlier version of the operating system than the tablet computer.
That is where I would like to end my article on how to recover data via iCloud, if suddenly they were deleted from your smartphone. You can read about how to install Skype on iPhone here. I really hope that I have answered all your questions.

However, if you want to extract only selected content instead of your entire iCloud backup, you need to access iCloud first. Apple doesn’t offer too much control over iCloud backups, though. You cannot access some data from iCloud backup on iCloud official website.
But there is a good way to extract photos and other files you want from iCloud backups without restoring iPhone. Now let me show you how to recover iPhone from iCloud without reset in three ways:
Better to restore an iTunes backup on your computer or over the air from iCloud?
Let’s imagine an ideal situation. there is a backup in both iCloud and iTunes. For detailed instructions on how to back up your iPhone or iPad to iTunes and iCloud, visit this page. Here we will just briefly recall how this is done:
ICloud Backups can be enabled in Settings → iCloud → iCloud Backup. The data will begin to be saved to the cloud via Wi-Fi from the device connected to the power adapter and in standby mode (at the moment when the user is not using the device). And since the backup copy will be stored on the Internet, then it will have to be restored using the Network.
ITunes backups are created automatically or manually after connecting your iPhone or iPad to a Windows or Mac computer with iTunes installed (you can download it here). Click on the icon of the connected device, select the “Browse” tab and click on the “Create a copy now” button in it. ITunes backups will be stored locally on your computer.
In most cases, the fresher the backup is, the better. For example, if you’re changing your old iPhone to a new one, connect your old device to your computer with iTunes installed, back up, then restore the data to the new device using the backup you just created.
Important! A backup stored in iTunes can be installed on a work (used) device (i.e. with existing data, including photos, music, applications, etc.), while restoring a backup from iCloud is possible only on a blank iPhone or iPad (new or factory reset). Only in this case will there be access to the cloud recovery option.

Reinstalling the system or buying a new computer for many iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners results in the loss of iTunes backups. Not everyone knows that in this case, all the necessary information can be restored from a cloud copy, and it, like an iTunes backup, can be parsed into separate files needed in a specific situation. In this guide, we will consider the possibility of saving and subsequent processing of a backup of a mobile device running iOS from iCloud.
The data saved in an iCloud backup can come in handy in a variety of situations. They will be especially useful if you do not have access to your computer on which you have backed up your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in iTunes, or these copies were completely deleted along with the installation of a fresh Windows.
