This sounds good. I was wondering, Have you determined the alcohol content of the finished product?
Reply
Dusty Corrals says
Roughly 80%

John says
After combining all the ingredients and dissolving the sugar you should end up with approximately 21 cups of liquid.
The total amount of pure ethanol in the recipe is equal to 3.05 cups.
This results in a 14.5% alcohol content, or 29 proof.
Slightly higher than a typical wine which averages 11-12%, but lower than a fortified wine which runs at 20%.Reply

Everclear is actually illegal to purchase in some states, like Pennsylvania. It’s alcohol content is too high. We have to drive to Delaware or Maryland to buy it.

190 proof Everclear. it is not sold in all states, we only have 150 proof, but you should be able to find 190 proof grain alcohol in most liquor stores.

Dusty Corrals says
I think you meant Everclear, it’s grain alcohol. As far as I know it’s the only pure grain alcohol sold. Not all states allow the sale of it.

Another word for ever clear is moonshine! Does that help?

Everclear can be found at almost all liquor stores 🙂 If they dont carry it, ask them what they would recommend as a good substitute for it 🙂

When you say seal them, do you seal them in the boiling water?? And do you leave them in the refrigerator until you want to drink them?

Why does it need to sit in fridge for two weeks? Would it taste bad or be bad if it was made the night before a party and sat in fridge only overnight?
How thick is it? I was thinking it would be easy to serve if I put it in my ice tea jug that has the spigot on it.

For all the ingredients to “Marinade” and age together. Drink no Moonshine before it’s time!

Leaving it sits Mellows the flavor. Everclear can be quite harsh and sitting allows for the sugars and other ingredients to Marry giving it a much smoother and enjoyable drink.

I have become known for bringing this recipe! Let me just say it’s awesome! It does spoil after awhile. I guess maybe the creamer gets old. I think it was like within one month, and was refrigerated the whole time. Anyway, just beware that you can’t keep it forever.
