I love the flavors of rosemary and lemon blended together and this recipe for Lemon Rosemary Gin Fizz islight, refreshing, and perfect for any occasion. The combination of aromas are zingy, fresh, and remind me of Italywhere Pete and I spent our honeymoon. We even had a similar co*cktail served at our wedding!

While visiting Italy, you might notice that it seems every restaurant around the coastline will either have lemons included in a dish on their menu, or lemonsemblazoned on one of their ceramic serving dishes. I even picked up a dish towel with a recipe for limoncello as a souvenir. It’s easy to see that the Italians love the flavor of lemon.

Rosemary, on the other hand, happens to grow abundantly all around the Mediterranean, but it’s one of the most commonly used herbs in Italy. Thefragrant pine aroma of fresh rosemary is one of those herbs that instantly reminds me of the holidays.

The difference between a gin fizz and a gin and tonic is really in the type of sparklingwater you use. A gin fizz typically has an acidic juice (like lemon) and soda water. Whereas a gin and tonic traditionallyhas a squeeze of fresh lime as a garnish and uses tonic water, known for its quinine flavor, instead of club soda.

Some gin fizz co*cktails will also include an egg white too, where all ingredients will be shaken in a co*cktail shaker for maximum fizz and foam on top of the drink.

Next time you have a get together with friends or family, try this easy-to-make Lemon Rosemary Gin Fizz co*cktail. It doesn’t take any time at all to make and the fresh lemon slices and sprigs of rosemary as garnish make it look like a treat.

Lemon Rosemary Gin Fizz Ingredients

  • Gin: any type of gin is fine! We like to use Bombay for this recipe.
  • Fresh lemon juice: Juice from one half of lemon is enough per co*cktail.
  • Club soda: Any brand of club soda is fine.
  • Garnish: sliced lemons andfresh springs of rosemary

HOW TO MAKE A GIN FIZZ

A proper gin fizz, like one you might order at a bar, includes an egg white. But we exclude that from this homemade version.

If you’d like to create more foam on the top without the eggwhite, or a more fizzy co*cktail, pour the ingredients into a co*cktail shaker with ice and give it a good shake for thirty seconds. Then pour into serving glass and enjoy.

If you don’t have a co*cktail shaker at home, no worries. Simply fill a glass with crushed ice. Then pour in 1-2 ounces of gin and a squeeze of lemon juice from one half of a lemon. Then top with soda water and garnish with fresh rosemary and a slice of lemon.

Absolutely! That sounds like a delicious add. It would make it more like the co*cktail, French 75, which is gin and sparkling wine with lemon.

Depends on how fast you drink it. 😉

It stays fizzy for an afternoon or evening, but probably not overnight.
