That's because KFC's newest menu item is a tater-tastic bowl that's sure to be an instant fan favorite.
KFC Introduces New Smash'd Potato Bowl
Hot on the heels of announcing two new chicken wraps, KFC is back in the news with a new version of one of the chain's most popular menu items: its Famous Bowls. The Smash'd Potato Bowl is the first new version since 2019. KFC’s fan-favorite Famous Bowls first joined KFC menus in 2006, and were followed up by the equally-popular Mac & Cheese Bowls. The Famous Bowls are one of the chain's all-time best-selling items, famously (get it?) selling over 80 million orders in their first 10 months on the menu, as reported by the company at the time.
The new bowl is coming to menus nationwide following a successful test in Pittsburgh in Fall 2023. It features KFC's signature mashed potatoes topped with its crispy Secret Recipe Fries, warm cheese sauce, bacon crumbles, and a melty three-cheese blend. All of that comes to just $3.49, or, for an additional $2, you can add KFC's much-loved chicken nuggets to your Smash'd Potato Bowl.

The Smash'd Potato Bowl will be available at participating KFC locations nationwide starting Jan. 29. And if it follows in the footsteps of its Bowl predecessors, this one is sure to be a smashing success.
