Residential yard waste and commercial land clearing burning can only occur between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (No new vegetation can be added to a burn pile after 6 p.m.). Also, burning is only allowed when the air quality forecast is Code Green or Code Yellow.

Air quality burn bans are called by Ecology, local clean air agencies, and tribes to protect people's health. A burn ban limits wood stove use and outdoor burning. Ecology calls burn bans only in counties with no local clean air agency.

Effective immediately, all burn restrictions have been lifted across the state of Alabama. Burn permits will be issued as normal by the Alabama Forestry Commission (AFC). This includes 11 counties in northeast Alabama that had been under a 'No Burn' order since it was issued by Gov.

The open burning must occur between the hours of 8:00 AM CST (9:00 AM EST) to one hour before sunset. The open burning must be enclosed in a noncombustible container or be in a pile no greater than eight feet in diameter.

Prohibited Items. Certain items may not be burned: “electrical insulation, treated lumber, plastics, non-wood construction/ demolition materials, heavy oils, asphaltic materials, potentially explosive materials, chemical wastes, and items containing natural or synthetic rubber” (30 Texas Admin. Code §111.219(7)).

You should ONLY burn these items:

Firewood. Natural vegetation from your own yard. Logs, stumps, limbs and other natural vegetation as part of land clearing. Yard waste must originate at a private residence and be burned on that site.
