Ingredients

  • 1 Large Head Cauliflower
  • Kosher salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Cup Water

Instructions

The basics of steaming a head of cauliflower

  • Cut the cauliflower into florets. You can make them any size you want depending on what you are going to use them for. I prefer small florets so they are easier to eat.

  • Season the florets generously with salt and pepper.

  • Heat the water in a medium size saucepot over medium heat with a thight fitting lid. Add in the steamer basket and place the cauliflower florets in the steamer basket. Lower the heat to low and let the cauliflower steam until the florets are tender. About 25 minutes.

  • Remove the cauliflower from the steamer basket and serve with cheese sauce or mash with butter and heavy cream for mashed cauliflower.
